Daniel Romano pays tribute to Ramones with "The Pride of Queens" video (watch)

Daniel Romano‘s new album Modern Pressure is out now on New West Records/You’ve Changed (order yours), and he has now made a video for the song “The Pride of Queens.” Presumably he’s talking about Queens, NY, given the little “gabba gabba hey!” and Ramonesy riffs that he throws in the song, and the fact that the video’s star is dressed like Joey Ramone. Here’s Daniel’s poetic description of the video:

Noble Avant-Guard-ist walks the evaded boulevards of the universal boondocks. Discounted and omitted from a posthumous depthless praise and diminished to nothing but an exploitative feckless-franchise. Despite the degradation of the immortal, his surrounding environments radiate at his every step. All paths of blight lead to the dripping gape of the sea, swallowing once more its tender pride. Repressed Rapture Hey!

The video premieres below. Daniel is also touring, including a Brooklyn show on June 16 at Knitting Factory with opener American Trappist, who’s playing solo (tickets).
