Danny Brown - Really Doe

Danny Brown shares "Really Doe" ft. Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweatshirt

Danny Brown has shared the another piece of new music from his highly-anticipated new LP Atrocity Exhibition. This one is called “Really Doe” and it comes on the heels of “Rolling Stone,” “Pneumonia” and “When it Rain.” It features verses from heavyweights Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweatshirt, and Ab-Soul.

It’s an absolute killer. Last week I said that “Rolling Stone” was my favorite of the new songs released, but that only lasted for a few days as, for my money, “Really Doe” is now the strongest thing he’s yet shared. It’s got a creepy beat that manages to be low-key and powerfully forward-driving at the same time. All three guests bring low-key fire for their verses, and all have such divergent and complementary styles. This is the rare guest-heavy track that truly feels like a meeting of like-minded contemporaries, each very much on their own track but able to unite for something that’s uniquely indicative of the artier end of the current hip-hop spectrum. Danny’s tour hits NYC TONIGHT (9/19) at Webster Hall. Tickets are still on sale. Atrocity Exhibition finally drops on September 30 via Warp.
