Dave Franklin of NJHC band Vision, RIP
Dave Franklin from Vision passed away and I don't even know what to say. He was so kind to me the few times we interacted and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to document him in his element. This is a painful loss for many of my friends. This set from less than two months ago will sadly be their last, but it was the best set of theirs I had ever seen. It only has 300 views. If you've never heard this hugely influential band, I beg you to check them out in Dave's memory. I will never forget Dave or the way his music brought so many people together. #vision #davefranklin
The sad news that is spreading on social media. Dave Vision, frontman of NJHC band Vision, who have been active recently, has reportedly passed away.
Fellow hardcore band Sick of It All posted the following message:
It’s with very heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to one of our true brothers, Dave Franklin, who unbelievably passed away today. It seems unreal to think that someone so close to us has been taken away. He loved laughter like no one else and he burned incredibly bright during his short life. We’ll always have his glow in our lives because every memory is a fond one. May you rest in peace, Dave. We’ll miss you so much.

We will miss you sincerely Dave Franklin. Never did we see you and you were not smiling or reminiscing about the fun old days. ?? 2017 starting off like this already?
Revelation Records writes:
Very sad to hear of the passing of Dave from Vision. They played countless shows with Revelation bands and were a staple of the NJHC scene for decades
From CI Records:
The CI Records family is deeply saddened and sick in learning of the loss of Vision – NJHC’s Dave Fvision. Dave Franklin ALWAYS had a smile for you. He was so full of energy, and such a gamer. We LOVED his music, too. CI’s owner/founder, Jeremy L Weiss, grew up going to, and putting on Vision shows in Central PA, and was overjoyed to be able to release “One and the Same”, and reissue the legendary “Undiscovered” EP’s by Vision in 1996. There aren’t words. All our love to Dave’s family, and The Vision family.
So sorry to hear about the passing of Dave Franklin of the New Jersey Hardcore band Vision. Never met Dave but In The Blink Of An Eye was a staple record long before Shai Hulud started.
A very sad loss. Our deepest condolences to Dave’s family, innumerable friends and Vision fans.

Dave Franklin was more than a legend of NJ Hardcore (even though he most certainly was exactly that: a legend)…he was a true brother & friend. He gave me a job working construction with him when moving to New Jersey and really took me under his wing. He showed me that hard work could also be tons of fun. He even gave me my nickname “Das Boot” while living out there.
He really meant a lot to me and us. More than I could ever convey in a post.
His laughter and presence touched everyone who knew him and will never fade.
He will be truly missed. Forever.

The Bouncing Souls:
Still trying to process this. Can’t believe one of the biggest personalities we’ve had the pleasure of knowing has passed. Dave Franklin will always live on in our hearts as the funny, loud, brash and larger-than-life brother in our strange beautiful family. Dave had so much life in him he should have outlived us all, it’s just senseless. Our thoughts are with the Franklin family (as well as Dave’s all of Dave’s extended punk/HC family) today.
Our deepest condolences to the Family of our friend and brother Dave Franklin of Vision. May he rest in peace and his spirit live forever. We will miss you Dave!
Kill Your Idols:
