Dave Lombardo to drum for the Misfits reunion shows

The Misfits reunion with Jerry, Doyle and Danzig is coming up soon, and it’s been announced that the great Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo will be joining them behind the skins for their reunion dates. Those shows right now include the upcoming Riot Fests in both Chicago and Denver, with the possibility of more shows. Both Dave and Danzig talked about the move to Rolling Stone:

“The Misfits created the horror punk attitude and had a massive influence on modern rock, punk and metal,” Lombardo tells Rolling Stone. “It was an easy decision for me to join them for these monumental shows. I was honored to be asked, and am very excited to be playing with the band.”

“I first met Dave back in 1988 when Danzig did four shows with Slayer in the U.S., before the first Danzig album was released,” Danzig says. “Dave is one of the best drummers around, and I can’t wait for everyone to see him pounding Misfits songs live for these special shows.”

Dave has been busy this year, drumming with Suicidal Tendencies and forming the new band Dead Cross. This should (hopefully) be pretty great.
