Dave Wakeling preps 1st new English Beat LP in 35 years, shares 1st single, touring
Dave Wakeling is set to release the first new English Beat album since 1982. Here We Go Love is out June 15 and finds him revisiting the ska sound of the band’s early days as well as the more pop-oriented direction of Special Beat Service. While Wakeling is the only original member of The English Beat in the current lineup, the album does feature Roddy ‘Radiation’ Byers of The Specials. The English Beat are on tour now, playing West Coast dates ahead of a UK tour, and then they’ll be back in North America for a summer tour that includes a Brooklyn show at The Bell House on June 24. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, May 11 at 10 AM.
