David Bazan’s new band Lo Tom announce first-ever tour
Last week, David Bazan‘s new band Lo Tom announced that they’ll release their self-titled debut album on July 14 via Barsuk, and today they announced a tour. Bazan is joined in Lo Tom by his Pedro the Lion bandmate TW Walsh on guitar/backing vocals, drummer Trey Many (who’s also played in Pedro the Lion), and guitarist Jason Martin. They’ve all been in tons of cool indie rock bands (such as Starflyer 59, His Name Is Alive, Velour 100, The Soft Drugs, etc), and you can see a helpful flowchart with all of Lo Tom’s related projects here.
The tour includes a Brooklyn show on August 12 at Rough Trade. TIckets for that show go on sale Wednesday (5/17) at noon. All dates are listed below.
Here is some insight from the band members themselves on Lo Tom:
“These songs were painstakingly honed over the course of… um… two weekends. Then we sat on them for a while.”
“We just wanted to make music together and have fun.”
“Nobody is in charge… The album cover is pink.”
