Arcade Fire released their awesome new single, “Reflektor,” in a crazy interactive video today, and if you were listening and thinking one of those voices sounded like David Bowie… well that’s because it is. The Thin White Duke confirmed on Facebook that he “has supplied a brief backing vocal on the James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) produced track (no saxophone though).” You may remember that this isn’t the first time Bowie and Arcade Fire have teamed up; they played Central Park together in 2005 (pictured above) and recorded a collaborative live EP that same year.

The single becomes available to purchase tonight (9/9) at 9 PM, and in Bowie’s Facebook post, he also revealed more details on that:

The vinyl is a very limited 2-track 12″ with an instrumental of the A-side on the reverse and will only be available in stores at 9:00pm at your nearest participating store.

The reverse of the sleeve is designed to look like it has an album tracklisting for the upcoming album due on October 29th, but it is in fact just snippets of lyrics from Reflektor.

There will also be an Anton Corbijn-directed video of the song premiered this evening.

Keep an eye on http://reflektor.arcadefire.com/ and http://www.thereflektors.com/ for updates.

That Anton Corbijn video is out now, and can be watched, along with a picture of the vinyl sleeve, below…
