DCFC on Bunbury 2017 lineup w/ Shins, sang w/ Julien Baker (who's touring w/ The Decemberists)

Cincinnati, OH’s annual Bunbury Music Festival returns from June 2 – 4. The lineup is… not so good, but it includes some stuff you might wanna make the trip for, like The Shins, Death Cab For Cutie, Muse, AFI, The 1975, D.R.A.M., Flogging Molly, Reverend Horton Heat, Tech N9ne and Arkells. Some other big names include Wiz Khalifa, G-Eazy, Bassnectar, and Pretty Lights. Tickets are on sale now. Full lineup on the poster below.

The Shins have a new album coming this year, and they’re also touring, including a big BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival show in Prospect Park on June 15 (tickets). They’re also playing other festivals like Sasquatch!, Shaky Knees, and the Shovels & Rope-curated High Water (which happens the same weekend as Coachella, which The Shins are not playing).

Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard recently played some shows with Julien Baker, where he brought out Julien to play DCFC’s “Photobooth” (a song Julien covered last year). Ben and Julien sound great together, as you can hear for yourself:

Ben Gibbard is not to be confused with Colin Meloy, whose band The Decemberists are touring with Julien in April before both The Decemberists and Julien Baker play High Water Festival (with The Shins). That tour also includes three NYC shows at Brooklyn Steel (Apr 17, 18 & 19). Tickets are still available and VIP options were recently added.

Death Cab is also not to be confused with Dashboard Confessional, who recently released a Julien Baker cover.

And what, were were going to talk about The Shins, Death Cab For Cutie, The Decemberists, and Dashboard Confessional, and not mention Iron & Wine? They have one 2017 date announced so far. They’re heading the Fayetteville Roots Festival, which goes down from August 24-27 in Fayetteville, NC. Tickets and full lineup here.
