Deerhoof played 2 shows at Bell House (pics, setlist)

Experimental indie-rockers Deerhoof played a double-header at The Bell House on Friday night (6/16), as a warm-up for their tour opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers. Pictures from the late show with openers Outside World are in the gallery above. Deerhoof took the stage just after midnight, and drummer Greg Saunier left his kit throughout the set to interject a series of humorous musings. He also explained the origin of the song “Come Down” – it’s a veiled reference to Bob Dylan’s infamous 1966 retort to a heckler whom he summoned to “Come down here and say that” after he was labelled “Judas.” See the early and late show setlists below.

Greg, who’s always got a few irons in the fire, is part of Comedienne, the project from Zac of Parenthetical Girls.
