Desert Trip tickets still available ++ Neil Young, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan & Paul McCartney news

As Desert Trip approaches (it goes down October 7-9 and 14-16) there are still lots of tickets still on sale. After releasing more passes over a week ago you can still grab general admission passes (and a few reserved seats) for both weekend 1 and weekend 2. While the main site says that general admission passes are no longer available, you can still get them on the main ticket sale site.

Meanwhile, there’s plenty of news from the venerable acts who will be playing this mega-fest. Neil Young released a new song called “Indian Givers” and it’s meant as a protest song against the controversial proposed Dakota Access Pipeline. Listen to it below.

The Rolling Stones are getting set to release a new concert documentary. This is the second Paul Dugdale directed Stones doc coming out this year (already mentioned Ole! Ole! Ole!, which documented their whole South American tour). The new one is called Havana Moon, and it follows their trip to Cuba for a historic concert in Havana earlier this year. That one hits on DVD and Blu-Ray on November 11, while the tour doc doesn’t yet have a release date. Watch the trailer below.

Bob Dylan, meanwhile, is getting set to release a massive, 36-CD box set that features every show from his legendary 1966 tour. That behemoth also comes out on November 11, and is available to pre-order now.

And finally, Paul McCartney, a vegetarianism booster, is getting some good work done for vegetarians as always. The legend will play the inaugural concert at Sacramento’s brand new Golden 1 Center (the new home of the Boogie Cousins and the Sacramento Kings). In honor of Paul, Sacramento has launched a new Meatless Mondays program throughout the city. Restaurants around the city will be participating by developing special Monday vegetarian recipes.
