Desert Trip concludes! — MORE PICS + setlists (Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Rihanna & more)

The photos start HERE, and continue in the gallery below…

“Welcome to Desert Trip two!” Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger announced Friday to the 75,000 fans at the Empire Polo Field in Indio. “They say that if you remember Desert Trip one, you weren’t really there.”

Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney turned in sets virtually identical to the ones they delivered opening weekend, while the Stones and Neil Young significantly mixed it up. As performances ranged from the celebratory to the angry, fans — some of whom traveled from other countries — were already dreaming up wish lists for next year. Weekend 2 also began in wake of some rather surprising news in the music and literature communities. – [LA Times]

The second weekend of Desert Trip, which brought together some of the biggest names in rock music, wrapped up Sunday night (10/16) at the Empire Polo Fields in California’s Coachella Valley. Sunday night saw Roger Waters and The Who playing identical sets to weekend 1. As the LA Times notes, only Neil Young and The Rolling Stones dared to change things up between weekends, though Paul McCartney did bring out Rihanna. (Bob Dylan, meanwhile, made no mention of having just been awarded the Nobel Prize for literature.) A second set of weekend 2 pictures are in the gallery above, and setlists for all the artists are below.
