DIIV played Warsaw with Chastity (pics, setlist)
DIIV, whose new album Deceiver takes them into heavier, grungier shoegaze territory, brought their tour to their old Brooklyn stomping grounds on Thursday night at Warsaw, the first of three NYC shows while in town. Opening with “Horsehead” and “Skin Game,” they went on to play all but one song from the new album, plus older faves like “Under the Sun,” “Doused” and “Dust.” DIIV were super energetic, as was the crowd. DIIV’s Captured Tracks label mates Chastity were the undercard and Storefront Church, who we missed, opened the night. The band have the night off but will play two shows Saturday night at intimate new Manhattan venue The Dance, an early show with Storefront Church (sold out) and a late show with Chastity (tickets).
