Dinosaur Jr are currently making up for their cancelled tour with Mastodon (“due to a critical situation of a member of the Mastodon family”) with intimate headlining shows, and they’ve been having special guests join them at these shows as well. Negative Approach frontman John Brannon‘s band Easy Action have been opening, and Brannon’s joined them several nights, including at Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall last night (9/19). Like at previous shows, he came out during the encore for a couple Negative Approach songs and a cover of The Stooges’ “TV Eye.” During the main set, they brought out Gumball’s Don Fleming for “The Wagon,” which Fleming recorded with the band back in 1990. He was sporting a WFMU shirt last night, appropriate as the show was in WFMU’s hometown. Pictures are in the gallery above.

Dino and Easy Action are playing Port Chester, NY’s Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre tonight (9/20), which is sold out, and they play DC tomorrow.
