Dinosaur Jr playing Long Island brewery party with '90s cover band

Long Island’s Blue Point Brewery turns 20 this year, and they’re celebrating their anniversary with a ’90s-themed throwback party called “Rewind to ’98.” Most excitingly, they booked indie legends Dinosaur Jr (though, for what it’s worth, Dinosaur Jr were actually broken up in 1998 and were making some of their best music in 1988). The theme also continues with ’90s cover band Saved By The 90’s and a reboot of the “OG Blue Point cans” for just this one night. The show goes from 4-10 PM on October 13 at Blue Point’s new brewery at 255 W. Main St in Patchogue, NY, and it’s the first event being held at this location. Tickets are on on sale, include two beers, and proceeds benefit the Billion Oyster Project.

This is Dinosaur Jr’s only upcoming show at the moment. They just wrapped up an intimate tour (to make up for their cancelled tour with Mastodon), and their shows included different surprise guests in different cities, including Fucked Up’s Damian Abraham and Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew in Toronto, Negative Approach’s John Brannon (whose band Easy Action opened) at multiple shows, The Meatmen’s Tesco Vee in Grand Rapids, Gumball’s Don Fleming in Jersey City, and more. We caught the Jersey City show (pics).
