Dirty Projectors prep ‘Lamp Lit Prose,’ share “Break-Thru” video, touring

Screen Shot 2018-05-02 at 10.43.07 AM

Dirty Projectors will release new album Lamp Lit Prose on July 13 on Domino. The record was made with the currently lineup of Nat Baldwin (bass) and Mike Johnson (drums) plus new band members Felicia Douglass (percussion/vocals, also of Ava Luna), Maia Friedman (guitar/vocals) and Kristin Slipp (keyboards, vocals). The album also features guest appearances from Empress Of, Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes) & Rostam, Syd, Amber Mark, and Dear Nora (with whom Longstreth used to play). None of those folks are on the album’s appealing first single, “Break-Through,” though Robin’s brother, Sean Pecknold, directed the bird-filled video which you can watch below.

The band will be on tour starting this month, including a stop at NYC’s Governors Ball on June 3 and play a GovBall After Dark show before that on May 30 at Public Arts (tickets). All tour dates are listed, along with album art and tracklist, below.
