Dismember

Dismember's original lineup reunites, playing Scandinavia Deathfest

The original lineup of Swedish death metal OGs Dismember, the one responsible for their classic and super influential 1991 debut Like an Ever Flowing Stream, have officially announced a reunion, over two years since drummer Fred Estby told Invisible Oranges that he was hoping to get the band back together. Dismember played their last show in 2008, officially broke up in 2011, and this reunion will mark the first time Matti Kärki (vocals), David Blomqvist (lead guitar), Robert Sennebäck (rhythm guitar), Richard Cabeza (bass), and Estby are all back together since the ’90s.

The band’s first announced show back is Scandinavia Deathfest, which happens October 11 & 12, and it’s billed as their “exclusive European appearance.” Let’s hope more shows follow in 2020, and let’s hope they play the US.

The Scandinavia Deathfest lineup also includes Benediction, Birdflesh, Centinex, Death Toll 80k, Demilich, Demonical, Entrails, General Surgery, Interment, Iron Lamb, Martyrdöd, Massgrav, Nuclear Assault, Purtenance, Putrid Vision, Rippikoulu, Rotten Sound, Sarcasm, Soils of Fate, Sorcery, Toxaemia, Unanimated, Undergang, and Wombbath. Tickets are on sale.
