Dolly Parton taping 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center' this week (free tix) ++ "Dollypalooza" tribute at LPR
It’s still in the 80s here in NYC but Dolly Parton is in NYC to film her portion of the upcoming holiday special “Christmas In Rockefeller Center.” The performance is at 8 PM and tickets are free.
Dolly has been busy, having released new album Pure & Simple and toured this summer. Meanwhile, her classic single “Jolene” made Pitchfork’s Best Songs of the ’70s list. If you need more Dolly in your life, there’s “epic fan tribute” party “Dollypalooza” happening at Le Poisson Rouge on September 3. The night’s entertainment features tribute band Doll Parts, The World Famous Bob, Sweetie Nyc, Sequinette Jaynesfield, Nath Ann Carrera, Lady Quesa’Dilla, Darlinda Just Darlinda, Tammy Cannons and more. There will also be a trivia contest, a fan costume contest, and a silent auction (proceeds benefit Dolly’s Imagination Library charity).
