Don Rickles, RIP
Actor and comedian Don Rickles has died, having passed from liver failure at his home in Los Angeles. He was 90. Perhaps the quintessential “insult comedian,” Rickles’ rapid-fire style made him a regular on the Dean Martin Roasts series, and a frequent Tonight Show guest during Johnny Carson’s era. His film credits include Run Silent, Run Deep, Kelly’s Heroes, the Frankie & Annette beach party movies, and he was the voice of Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story Films. (He also had his own show in the ’70s, CPO Sharkey.) Anyone lucky enough to be called a hockey puck by Rickles should be proud.
Rest in peace, Don. You’ll be missed. Watch some classic clips (including one of The Dickies on CPO Sharkey!), and read a few tributes to Don, below.

Don Rickles, such sharp hilarious wit in an era when an insult comic didn't need to be vulgar to be funny. You will be missed -B #donrickles pic.twitter.com/448JH7bGSP
