We already mentioned that Hurray For the Riff Raff have some shows coming up including a NYC date at Bowery Ballroom on November 4 with Making Movies and Las Cafeteras. It turns out that show is actually a mini one-night festival the band is putting on called Nosotros Fest, a one-night cultural festival that celebrates Latinx music and activism. The description reads:

We are meeting each other at the intersections of race, gender, nationality and all other identities that are often erased from the popular representations of Latinx people. Our mission is to create an alternative to hopelessness in the face of a xenophobic, racist, homophobic and sexist political climate. We wish to provide a platform for social justice workers and artists alike – an opportunity to share their work with a proactive audience. Creating a response to these turbulent times is reclaiming our narrative and continuing the work of our ancestors.

In addition to the previously-announced artists, that bill now includes Downtown Boys and Yva Las Vegas. Tickets are still available.

Downtown Boys also soon play the Philly edition of the multi-city Project Pabst fest. That goes down on October 8-9 at Electric Factory and also features Animal Collective, Hop Along, Mac DeMarco, Guided By Voices, Beach Slang, Diarrhea Planet and Rebirth Brass Band. Tickets for that are on sale now.
