Dyke Drama (mem G.L.O.S.S.) streaming new album, ‘Up Against the Bricks’

dyke drama

G.L.O.S.S. frontwoman Sadie Switchblade released her new album under her solo project Dyke Drama, Up Against The Bricks, via Bandcamp. While she shares her more aggressive, darker side in G.L.O.S.S., she shows a vulnerable side on this Dyke Drama album, as she openly sings about heartbreak, issues within the music industry, her past, and the struggles of being a trans woman.

The album opens with “Rolling Tears”, starting with an acoustic guitar and changing pace suddenly, setting the mood for the record. She opens up about her relationship struggles in “Crying In A Bathroom Stall,” showing uninhibited emotion as she sings about coping with heartbreak: “I dunno how I’m gonna live, how I’m gonna live through this” and shares her feelings towards cis women and their lack of understanding in “Cis Girls”, saying “You say I’m second to none, like I ain’t second best.” The album ends with “Some Days I Load My Gun”, a harrowing acoustic track about contemplating suicide. Stream the album below.

Up Against the Bricks will be out on vinyl on September 16 via Salinas Records (pre-order). Dyke Drama recently wrapped up a tour with Beach Slang and they’re playing Don Giovanni’s New Alternative Music Festival right around their album’s physical release date.

In case you missed it, G.L.O.S.S.’s great new EP Trans Day of Revenge is out now too.
