Dysrhythmia share “Internal/Eternal”
Proggy avant-metal experimenters Dysrhythmia have shared a song from their upcoming album The Veil of Control. That thing drops on September 23 via Profound Lore, and the new song, which is a real mind-bender, is called “Internal/Eternal, and you can listen to it below.
Core members Kevin Hufnagel and Colin Marston are of central importance to a shockingly wide array of experimental metal outfits to the extent that they become actively hard to keep up with. They both play in Gorguts, with whom they are about to head out on tour behind the excellent new release Pleiades’ Dust. Kevin has a solo album out this year, plays in Sabbath Assembly, and will take part in that massive Enslaved undertaking later this year. Colin, meanwhile, released new music with both Withered and Krallice this year, brought his old band Behold the Arctopus back to the stage, all while remaining a prolific producer. So the duo are hardly slouches, and the new Dysrhythmia continues their somewhat mind-blowing propensity for churning out music that’s as brainy and engaging as anything out there. The new song is frantic genius, skittering around a winding bass part that hypnotizes even as it scatters your senses. It’s pretty awesome, and at this point just feels like an embarrassment of riches coming from this camp.
While Dysrhythmia don’t have any dates currently scheduled, there are plenty of other opportunities to catch these dudes live. There’s the aforementioned Enslaved shows and the aforementioned Gorguts tour (which stops in NYC at Le Poisson Rouge on October 30, with tickets still on sale). Sabbath Assembly has a run of dates on the west coast, and Krallice have announced a series of west coast dates that they promised a while back. And they have that Saint Vitus show on July 31 with Reg Bloor and Thaetas, and tickets for that are still on sale.
