After 10 years at E. 4th Street in the East Village, EastVille Comedy Club has moved further East…to Brooklyn. The new location, which the club says is Brooklyn’s only full-time comedy club, is at 487 Atlantic Ave, right by Barclays Center. The Brooklyn EastVille opens on Thursday (7/19) with Janeane Garofalo, Todd Barry, Christian Finnegan, Akaash Singh, and Dave Kinney, and Friday night (7/20) has Janeane, Akaash, Kinney again as well as Wil Sylvince and Moody McCarthy. Judah Friedlander and Jordan Carlos headline on Sunday (7/22). Tickets for those and other shows are on sale and EastVille is offering a special for free entry on opening weekend on their Facebook  (two-drink minimum still applies though).

This is exciting news for comedy fans in Brooklyn, though don’t forget that there is already a strong selection of quality comedy events on a regular basis — also not far from Barclays Center — at Littlefield, The Bell House and Union Hall (all without 2 drink minimums).

Another Manhattan comedy club, The Stand, is moving less far from its original location to Union Square.
