Echo & The Bunnymen offer orchestral versions of their hits on new LP, touring (BrooklynVegan presale for NYC show)

Echo & the Bunnymen are “transforming” some of their best-loved songs with “strings and things attached” on upcoming album The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon. “I’m not doing this for anyone else,” says frontman Ian McCulloch. “I’m doing it as it’s important to me to make the songs better.” In addition to reinterpretations of such songs as “Bring on the Dancing Horses,” “Nothing Lasts Forever,” “Rescue,” “The Cutter,” and “The Killing Moon,” there are also two new songs on the LP. You can listen to the “transformed” — and very stripped-down — version of “Seven Seas” below.

Having just wrapped up a summer tour with Violent Femmes, Echo & the Bunnymen will tour in support of the new LP this fall, including a NYC show at Town Hall on November 21. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, August 17 at 10 AM but you can get tickets early vai the BrooklynVegan presale which runs Wednesday (8/15) at 10 AM through Thursday (8/16) at 10 PM. Check back Wednesday morning for the password.
