BLARF

Eric Andre says to go see BLARF, but is he BLARF? (LP on Stones Throw announced)

Eric Andre, who spoke about having an old band called BLARF in a 2012 LA Weekly feature and released an EP called BLARF in 2014, recently tweeted about a Stones Throw-signed artist named BLARF with an LA show scheduled for July 6 at Lodge Room Highland Park. “People are confusing this guy BLARF on @stonesthrow for me! Let’s go to his show and see what the fuck is going on here!” he wrote.

When Pitchfork asked the Stones Throw artist if he is in fact Eric Andre, BLARF replied, “Who the fuck is that?”

I guess you’ll really have to go to the show to find out. Or stay tuned for BLARF’s debut album, coming June 26 via Stones Throw.

UPDATE: Stones Throw revealed the artwork for the album on Instagram, which is titled Cease and Desist. Eric Andre then shared the same post and wrote, “I love this guy’s music! Can’t wait to meet him. Blarf. Cease & Desist LP coming June 26. live show in Los Angeles July 6. Vinyl and tickets link in @stonesthrow bio.” Does this give you a better idea of whether it’s Eric Andre or not?

Both Instagram posts also reveal the full lineup for the show, including Peanut Butter Wolf, J.Rocc, Gary Wilson, and more.

Meanwhile, we know for sure that Eric Andre is going on a comedy tour this fall, and there’s a BrooklynVegan presale for the NYC and Chicago shows this week.
