Espers playing first shows in 9 years with Vetiver

The great psych-folk revivalists Espers haven’t played a show since 2009, the same year they released III, and members have been busy with other projects in the time since then (like Meg Baird, who formed the killer Heron Oblivion). They recently revealed that they’d be breaking their silence with an appearance at New York’s Huichica East Festival, and now they announced two more Northeast shows happening that same weekend. Both are with their old pals Vetiver, who also play Huichica East.

The shows happen at Philly’s Union Transfer on August 24 with Espers billed as headliners and Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on August 26 with Vetiver billed as headliners. Tickets for Philly are on sale now and NJ will be on sale Friday (4/27) at 10 AM.

Vetiver are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their 2008 covers album Thing Of The Past by performing it in full at both Huichica East and Huichica West, which happens on June 8 in Sonoma, CA. Vetiver have a few other upcoming dates too. All are listed, with a stream of Thing Of The Past and an old Espers video, below.
