Terveet Kadet
Finnish punk crew Terveet Kadet will headline Saint Vitus on May 23, joining Iron Lung (who just played DBA), Massgrav, Wake and Lotus Fucker (tickets). The show is part of Terveet Kadet’s campaign toward Maryland Deathfest and on to Chaos in Tejas, dates of which are below. Stream some material while you’re down there.
Two big reminders for this weekend… Evil Army will play Acheron tonight (4/5, tickets). If you missed the Invisible Oranges stream, then get over to check out their latest ripping 7″… its a doozy.
Also, as mentioned before, Zozobra & Kowloon-Walled City are touring together as part of an IO-sponsored trek, and the bands will play Saint Vitus on Saturday (4/6) with The Austerity Program. Tickets are still available. If you missed it, we interviewed Caleb of Zozobra/Cave In fame on Invisible Oranges.
Writer Laina Dawes will celebrate the release of her new book, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? A Black Woman’s Life and Liberation in Heavy Metal with a show at Saint Vitus on April 15, enlisting Tamar-kali, Militia Vox and Kudisan Kai for live sets. I am happy to report that I (Fred Pessaro) will join my friend Brandon Stosuy (Pitchfork) to help DJ the event. Entry is free and open to the public (21+) and donations will be accepted at the door for the bands. Make it out if you can. WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? A Black Woman’s Life and Liberation in Heavy Metal is out now via Bazillion Points.
