Eyehategod's Mike "IX" Williams receives successful liver transplant
Good news out of New Orleans today, as Mike “IX” Williams, invaluable lead screamer of Eyehategod, has successfully received a liver transplant that could hopefully save his life. “Surgeon just came out to talk to me – it’s over! Everything went well,” revealed his partner, Michele Maher-Williams (who had spearheaded crowdfunding efforts for a transplant). “New liver is functioning and making bile. They’re taking him to ICU now and I can see him in about an hour.” Mike had been battling poor health for several years now (while still touring on and off with the band), and needed a transplant due to cirrhosis of the liver.
Mike, we’re glad to hear it went well and its certainly great news. We wish Mike continued success in his recovery.
