Lady Gaga - Perfect Illusion

Father John Misty, Florence, Giorgio Moroder & more appearing on new Lady Gaga LP (listen to Tame Impala collab)

Lady Gaga is getting ready to release her new album, which is as-yet-untitled. But she’s released a new song called “Perfect Illusion” that features an all-star cast of collaborators and continues a recent trend of huge pop stars collaborating with musicians who are more from the indie/rock universe. This one, a catchy, shiny 80s-sounding track was co-written by Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker, features production from Mark Ronson and Grimes collaborator Bloodpop, and new-wavey guitar playing from Josh Homme. You can listen to that here.

The laundry list of collaborators gets even longer when we talk about the full album, as Gaga revealed today in a talk with BBC1 — tthe LP features contributions from the likes of Giorgio Moroder (who DJs Brooklyn this weekend), Father John Misty, Beck and Florence Welch (with whom she performs a duet). It also sounds like Ronson is heavily involved in the whole thing, with Gaga saying the pair co-wrote much of the material. No word yet on title or release date, stay tuned.
