LA punk OGs Fear, who are still led by frontman and sole constant member Lee Ving, are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, and they’ve got some 40th anniversary shows lined up, in addition to festival appearances like Chicago’s Riot Fest and the recently-announced Cali punk fest Surf City Blitz (with The Offspring, Social Distortion, Rancid, Bad Religion, Suicidal Tendencies, and more).

It seems like more 40th anniversary dates are TBA, but some have popped up, including Asbury Park’s House of Independents on September 19 and NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on September 21. The Asbury Park show is one of a few shows with fellow punk veterans Murphy’s Law opening, though no opener has been announced for the NYC show yet. Tickets for both Asbury Park and NYC go on sale Friday (7/20) at 10 AM and the NYC show is on Live Nation presale now (password = SUNSET). All known dates are listed below.

Fear recently played Travis Barker’s Musink Festival and opened the Misfits reunion show in Vegas. Jawbreaker frontman Blake Schwarzenbach also recently named their classic 1982 debut The Record one of the albums that most impacted his life (as you may know, it’s one of Kurt Cobain’s favorites as well). Stream The Record below.
