Feist releasing cookbook companion to her 'Pleasure' album

What fueled Feist‘s 2017 album, Pleasure? Sustenance-wise, she answers that question with Pleasures: The Meals of an Album, a cookbook that chronicles “11 days in the studio and over 40 recipes.” Cowritten by Leslie Feist and Adrienne Amato, who was the chef at Pleasure’s recording session, it contains vegetarian recipes organized on a song-by-song, day-by-day basis of what Amato made for Leslie and the other musicians while they worked on the record. Says Leslie:

The making of an album is a communal process on many levels, and that extended to the community of the kitchen while we were recording. We hope this book will embolden you to expand your repertoire, stock up on simple staples and invite friends into your kitchen to cook some of these meals with them.

Meals of an Album is out December 11 (order yours) and proceeds from the cookbook will be donated to Community Food Centres Canada, a “nonprofit that builds and supports vibrant community spaces in low-income communities where people come together to grow, cook, share, and advocate for good food for all.”
