This year is the 30th anniversary of John Hughes’ classic comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The official anniversary is June 11 but there are 30th anniversary screenings of Ferris all over the U.S. today (Sunday, 5/15). In New York you can see it at Chelsea Cinemas and Times Square’s AMC Empire at 2 PM and 7 PM. Tickets are on sale. The trailer for Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is below.

Next weekend (May 20-22) in Chicago is the big three-day Ferris Fest celebration. We haven’t seen much in NYC, but LIttlefield on June 10 will hold a party called “One Crazy Summer” that will celebrate the summer movie season of 1986 that gave us Ferris, Top Gun, Aliens, Back to School, and other classics (including the John Cusask/Demi Moore film from which the party takes its title). More info here are tickets are on sale.
