Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney) and Peter Buck’s (R.E.M.) new band Filthy Friends released their debut album Invitation on Kill Rock Stars a couple weeks ago, and they’ve been playing shows including one at The Bell House in Brooklyn last night (9/6). The band — which also includes Buck’s Minus 5 bandmate (and Young Fresh Fellows founder) Scott McCaughey, R.E.M. contributor (and current King Crimson member) Bill Rieflin, and Fastbacks member/YFF/Minus 5 contributor Kurt Bloch — played almost the entire album, plus some songs that they haven’t released. They ended the night with a second encore where they covered David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel.” Buck’s former R.E.M. bandmate Michael Stipe was spotted in the audience last night too.

The show was opened by indie rock vets Versus, which made for a nice double bill. Check out pictures of both bands in the gallery above, and you can see a pic of Filthy Friends’ setlist below.
