Filthy Friends (Corin Tucker, Peter Buck, more) played Brooklyn (pics, setlist)

Filthy Friends, the Pacific Northwest supergroup featuring Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney), Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Scott McCaughey (Young Fresh Fellows, R.E.M.), Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks, Young Fresh Fellows), and Linda Pitmon (Zuzu’s Petals), are on tour supporting their second album Emerald Valley and stopped in Brooklyn on Friday to play Music Hall of Williamsburg. The album has its share of political songs, like “November Man” which they opened with, and Corin didn’t shy away from comments on the topic, either, but mainly they let the big rock riffs and great musicianship do the talking. Setlist from the show is below.

Opening on the tour are Dressy Bessy, who also have a new album, and who made for a great, fun start to the night, with Kurt Bloch joining them for a few songs. Check pictures from their set and the whole night in the gallery above.

Meanwhile, Corin and the rest of Sleater-Kinney have a new St. Vincent-produced album on the way and details on that look to be coming soon.
