Filthy Friends (Peter Buck, Corin Tucker) debut with anti-Trump song “Despierata”

The 30 Days 30 Songs series of anti-Trump songs continues today with “Despierata,” the first song ever by Filthy Friends. If you’re unfamiliar with who that is, you may know the individual members: Sleater-Kinney‘s Corin Tucker, R.E.M.‘s Peter Buck, Buck’s Minus 5 bandmate Scott McCaughey, R.E.M. contributor Bill Rieflin, and Fastbacks‘ Kurt Bloch (who’s also worked with The Minus 5).

Pitchfork points out that the song will appear on Filthy Friends’ 2017 debut album as well. Listen to it, along with a playlist of the rest of the ’30 Days 30 Songs’ contributions (including two new Moby songs):
