Filthy Friends (Sleater-Kinney, REM, etc) streaming new 7″, playing shows

Filthy Friends

Filthy Friends — the indie rock supergroup with Sleater-Kinney‘s Corin Tucker, R.E.M.‘s Peter Buck, Buck’s Minus 5 bandmate Scott McCaughey, R.E.M. contributor Bill Rieflin, and Fastbacks member/MInus 5 contributor Kurt Bloch (and occasionally Nirvana’s Kirst Novoselic) — made their debut last year with “Despierata,” the song they released for the anti-Trump 30 Days 30 Songs series. Then they released the song “Love in the Time of Rseistance” for Quasi’s protest/benefit comp Battle Hymns. Their latest release is the Record Store Day 7″ that they just put out with their new song “Any Kind of Crowd” b/w a cover of Roxy Music’s “Editions of You.” Corin takes lead, and if you like Sleater-Kinney (or The Corin Tucker Band or Heavens to Betsy, etc) you’ll probably like this. Listen to the new 7″ below.

Filthy Friends have some tour dates coming up, including the just-announced Bumbershoot festival in Seattle, the Project Pabst in Portland, and some club shows.

One of those club shows is in Brooklyn on August 29 at The Bell House. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (4/28) at noon.

All currently announced dates are listed below.
