Fischerspooner share first single from Michael Stipe produced LP

Michael Stipe has mentioned a few times that he has been working with electroclash survivors Fischerspooner on their new album. Details are now out: the album’s titled SIR and will be released September 22 via Ultra Records. (It’ll be their first record since 2009.) The first single is “Have Fun Tonight,” which was co-written and co-produced by Stipe, and Boots, and they describe it as “a queer dance ballad about polyamory (…or polyagony) encouraging your lover to go out and have fun without you.” You can watch the video for that above.

Fischerspooner also have an exhibition related to SIR that will be on display at the MUMOK Museum in Vienna, Austria from June 29 – October 29.
