FITTED, ft. Mike Watt & members of Wire, share first single from debut LP

FITTED began as a one-off, improvisational live performance as part of Wire’s 1999 DRILL festival in Los Angeles, featuring Wire’s Graham Lewis & Matthew Sims as well as Mike Watt and Bob Lee (The Freeks). They practiced all of once before their set at DRILL, but something clicked with the four musicians as, two years later, FITTED have announced their debut album, FIRST FITS. It’s out November 8 via ORG and features Lewis and Watt trading off lead vocal duties. The first single is “Training Pitbulls for the Navy,” which is one of the Lewis-sung numbers and his commanding baritone sounds great with this tightly coiled, dark and danceable groove that owes much to the members’ collective post-punk past. Listen to that, via Stereogum, below.
