Flamin’ Groovies play Norton Recs’ Hurricane Sandy first Anniversary Blast tonight; add last-minute Europa show


Powerpop vets The Flamin Groovies play Brooklyn tonight (11/15) at Warsaw with Seattle legendary Sonics plus Daddy Long Legs. Tickets are still available. It’s part of Norton Records’ Hurricane Sandy First Anniversary Weekend Blast, that continues Saturday (11/16) at Brooklyn Bowl with Reigning Sound with special guest La La Brooks of the Crystals, as well as The A-Bones with Mick Collins (Dirtbombs), Bloodshot Bill, and a late-night Soul Clap & Dance-Off with Jonathan Toubin. Flamin’ Groovies also added another NYC show happening after the Norton Records anniversary on Sunday (11/17) at Europa. No word on advance tickets or other bands, but flyer for the show — and for Saturday’s Brooklyn Bowl blowout — is below.

In other Jonathan Toubin news, he’s DJing tonight’s opening reception (11/15) of BV photographer Dana (distortion) Yavin‘s photo exhibit which is happening at Manhattan’s Gibson Showroom (4211 W. 54th St.) which happens from 7 – 11 PM. Flyer for that is below too…
