Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac opened tour w/ rarities, Tom Petty tribute, Split Enz/Crowded House songs

Fleetwood Mac began their tour in Tulsa, OK last night (10/3) with the new lineup of Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), and Neil Finn (Split Enz, Crowded House), the latter two of whom are replacing Lindsey Buckingham, who recently departed the band. They played a lot of the usual classics, but they also mixed up their setlist a good deal from recent tours. They did the Peter Green-era classic “Black Magic Woman” (popularized by Santana) with Stevie Nicks on lead vocals for the first time in over thirty years, and they did 1970’s Danny Kirwan-sung “Tell Me All The Things You Do” and 1973’s Bob Welch-sung “Hypnotized” for the first time in over forty years (both with Neil Finn on lead vocals). They also broke out Tango In The Night‘s “Isn’t It Midnight” for the first time in 28 years, and Tusk‘s “Storms” and Fleetwood Mac‘s “Monday Morning” for the first time in almost a decade. They closed the show with the first-ever performance of 1995’s “All Over Again.”

In addition to breaking out all these Mac songs, they did a few songs from their new members’ past projects. Neil Finn took the mic for Split Enz classic “I Got You” and Crowded House classic “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” and Fleetwood Mac paid tribute to Mike Campbell’s fallen bandmate Tom Petty with a cover of “Free Fallin'” during the encore. You can watch a some videos from the show and check out the full setlist below.

Fleetwood Mac’s tour lands in the NYC-area in 2019 for shows at MSG on March 11 and Prudential Center on March 13 (tickets). Lindsey Buckingham is also going on his own tour, including a NYC show on December 4 at Town Hall (tickets).
