Foals @ Maxwells

Foals (from the UK) finished up their North American touring last week with shows at Maxwell’s in Hoboken (May 7th) and Union Hall in Brooklyn (May 8th).

The band will probably acknowledge that tonight was not their best effort. They were caught in traffic, resulting in a short sound check from a tired band at the end of their tour. They even mentioned how frustrated they were with how they are sounding, but they enjoyed Maxwell’s Pina Coladas. [Music Snobbery]

Both shows were with their Sub Pop labelmate The Ruby Suns (from New Zealand).

I’m not sure how to describe their sound, I guess I can say its easy listening. Lots of cool percussion and sounds. I like a few songs, well more like all of them. [Randomnights’s Weblog]

Foals also played a show at Bowery Ballroom a couple of weeks earlier (that Leia was also at). More of Leia’s pictures from the Maxwell’s show below….

Both bands will be back in July to play the Sub Pop Festival with the Vaselines, and The Ruby Suns are also playing Pitchfork.

Leia Jospe now holds the world record for most number of Foals shows photographed.
