Fontaines D.C. & Pottery played 2 sold-out NYC shows (Bowery Ballroom pics)
Fontaines D.C. have been touring for almost all of 2019, first as openers for IDLES and they’re now out on their own headlining trek with Montreal labelmates, Pottery. Their tour, in support of their Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, included two sold-out NYC shows: Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday (9/6), which kicked off their tour, and then Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday (9/10). We caught the Bowery show where Fontaines had the crowd whipped into a frenzy by the end of the show, with the band pulling up fans to sing with them. Pottery’s manic, any-style-goes sound made for a great opener. Check out pics from Bowery Ballroom in the gallery above.
The tour hits Columbus tonight (9/12) as it makes its way to the West Coast. Pottery, meanwhile, will continue on in the U.S. after their tour with Fontaines D.C. wraps up, and the final show being at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on October 5 with Future Punx (tickets). Pottery also play Iceland Airwaves in November.
