Foo Fighters wrapped up NYC-area run with 2 MSG shows (pics of both)

Foo Fighters just wrapped up a three-show NYC-area run at Madison Square Garden last night (7/17). It was their second of two consecutive MSG shows, and also followed their Jones Beach show this past Saturday (7/14). Their setlists were very similar at all three shows, with some songs from last year’s Concrete and Gold, some old faves, and a covers medley. At all three shows, they did Queen and Bowie’s “Under Pressure” with Luke Spiller from openers The Struts, and both MSG shows featured saxophonist Dave Koz joining them on “La Dee Da.” (Jones Beach guests included John Travolta and RHCP’s Chad Smith.) Pictures of their first MSG show are in the gallery above and pictures of their second MSG show are in the gallery below. Both setlists are below too. Pics, setlists, and videos of the Jones Beach show here.

Other shows on the tour have exciting openers, like Dinosaur Jr and Speedy Ortiz at Fenway Park, Melkbelly at Wrigley Field, and a run with Gang of Youths (including the Foos’ own Cal Jam, which also includes Iggy Pop, Tenacious D, Garbage, and more).

Speaking of cool openers, Polyvinyl-signed garage punks White Reaper (who played Cal Jam ’17) have been tapped to open The Struts’ newly-announced headlining fall tour, including the NYC shows at Bowery Ballroom on 10/2 & 10/3 and the Asbury Park show at The Stone Pony on 10/5. All dates and tickets here.
