former Ra Ra Riot cellist Alexandra Lawn forms new band Otherwhile, releasing debut LP

About three years ago, it was announced that Ra Ra Riot cellist Alexandra Lawn was leaving the band. We haven’t heard much from her since, but we now know she’s formed a new band called Otherwhile with Elizabeth Palmer (guitar, vocals), Paige Conners (bass, vocals) and Stefan Macarewich of The Gromble (drums, vocals, production). Otherwhile recently finished successfully Kickstarting their debut album which they say has “a definite throwback angle to 70s and 80s pop” and they name Fleetwood Mac and The Pretenders as influences. A 13-song tracklist for the album with working titles was posted to their Instagram. Backers are estimated to get their copy in the mail this January.

They’ve only played a few shows so far, including private gigs for at least two of the backers, but stay tuned for more.
