Fred Armisen going on "Comedy for Musicians But Everyone is Welcome" tour

Fred Armisen is continuing to tour with his “Comedy for Musicians But Everyone is Welcome” show (which began life as “Stand-up for Drummers”), and he’s announced May dates where he’ll be joined by comedian Charlyne Yi and singer-songwriter Kate Teague, including stops in the NYC area, New Haven, CT, Eugene, OR, Tacoma, WA and Anchorage, AK.

The NYC shows happen at Webster Hall on May 20 and NJ’s White Eagle Hall on May 21. Tickets for Webster Hall go on sale Friday, March 6 at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (3/4) at 10 AM while tickets for White Eagle Hall go on sale Friday at noon.

In other news, Fred was just on SNL as Mike Bloomberg, and he’s appearing on tonight’s episode of TBS series Miracle Workers: Dark Ages which stars Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi and more. Says Fred, “My friend and creator of the show, Simon Rich, told me about this role. An aging rock star in the Middle Ages who refuses to play his one hit song. I thought it was such a funny idea.” Watch a behind-the-scenes preview of that episode, below.
