free Hold Steady ticket reminder, charity options & when to get there +++ Eventbrite shows in other cities too…
Free tickets will become available tonight at midnight (or on 9/15 @ 12:01am – however you want to think about it) for our 9/17 Hold Steady show at Beekman Beer Garden (at the South Street Seaport). The show is free, but it’s also ticketed (think of it as an RSVP), and it’s a charity event (optional). In the words of show sponsor Eventbrite (they are in the ticket business hence the free “tickets”):
We are partnering up with VH1’s Save the Music to celebrate their work in the music community. We will be taking donations at the event using our brand new iPad app, Eventbrite At The Door. Because as much as we love rocking out, we love giving back more! Anyone who donates $10+ will receive a free Concert Confidential T-shirt! Save the Music helps to restore instrumental music education programs, ensuring that every child has access to a complete education that includes the benefits of music instruction.
Donations at this event are completely optional, so in order to raise a bit more money for the charity, we are also now offering an extremely limited number of $15 tickets that will get you guaranteed/front of line access. “Doors” to the event are at 6pm. Opener at 8. Hold Steady at 9.
Why did I put “doors” in quotes? Because the beach part of Beekman Beer Garden will be open and serving drinks and food from noon on Saturday. Feel free to get there even earlier. The view is top notch. The tickets will start to be collected at 6pm though, and that’s when the entire venue will open up. Get there early to guarantee you get in. If you get there at 8:45 with a ticket hoping to slip in right in time to see the headliner, we may be at capacity. Stay tuned to the @BrooklynVegan twitter for updates during the day, and stay tuned for our 2nd band announcement coming soon.
Why does the above picture say “5 Cities”? BrooklynVegan teamed with Eventbrite to put together this NYC show, but Eventbrite also has four other similar free shows happening on the same night in four other cities including Wavves in LA and Freelance Whales in Chicago. More info and RSVP links HERE.
UPDATE: In the name of trees, you don’t need to print your ticket if you have a smart phone that can pull up the ticket. Try it at home before you get there. If you can open it so the people at the door can scan the bar code on your phone, then that works too, BUT make sure you have ID (which you need to get in anyway) too.
