French Vanilla released debut LP and “Carrie” video (listen/watch)


Skronky Los Angeles band French Vanilla released their self-titled debut album today. If you like your music danceable with healthy doses of angst and angles (not to mention saxophone), you will likely dig this. The band have also just released a video for “Carrie,” a song that’s based on the Stephen King novel (and Brian De Palma’s classic film). While director William Kaminski is clearly tipping his hat with the film’s prom setting, he also goes his own weird way. The video also includes a cameo by Cleo Tucker of Girlpool (whose new video stars Sally Spitz of French Vanilla). Watch that and stream the whole album below.

French Vanilla have a couple shows coming up in their hometown. (They played the East Coast last summer.) Those dates are listed below.
