Brazil’s rocking, funky Garotas Suecas will be releasing their debut LP, Escaldante Banda, on September 7th on American Dust. They’re supporting the record with a North American tour this September. That hits NYC twice: there’s a September 22nd show at Knitting Factory with Brooklyn’s Ava Luna and a September 24th gig at Cake Shop. The track above is a horn-laced, shuffling first-look at the LP.
Things are looking good for their tour – the Garotas gang seems to be paired with some of the best and brightest local acts at each city on the way (Grass Widow & Ty Segall in SanFran, Calvin Johnston in the Pacific Northwest, Kid Congo Powers in D.C., and Gaye Blades in Atlanta).
