Gary Holt (Exodus/Slayer) confirms coronavirus diagnosis

Exodus guitarist Gary Holt (who was also a member of Slayer from 2011 through 2019, when they broke up) said he was “suffering from all the symptoms of Corona” and self-quarantining after Exodus toured Europe with Testament and Death Angel as the pandemic was escalating. That tour was cut short, along with many others, and Testament frontman Chuck Billy, along with his wife and some of their crew members, tested positive for COVID-19; Death Angel’s drummer Will Carroll was hospitalized in the ICU. Now Gary confirms that he, too, tested positive for coronavirus, as Lambgoat reports. In an Instagram post that’s since been deleted, he wrote:

So I finally received my test results back and positive it was. Lisa’s came back negative, and it’s been long enough since my symptoms that I am officially in the clear to do the only things I’m allowed, like buy my own groceries! I feel great, made it through the tougher moments, and my health feels 100 percent normal. Thanks to everyone who had wished us well. Now it’s time to start working on some new Exodus riffs while I’m still basically stuck in my house!

We’re glad to hear Gary is feeling better!
