Onetime Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes just kicked off his quick U.S. tour with a show at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on Monday night (3/5). He’s got a new album, World’s Strongest Man, on the way in May and Gaz previewed some of that at Baby’s, along with earlier material. Is it possible his voice is better now than it was during Supergrass’ heyday? Watch video of of him playing “The Girl Who Fell To Earth” (from 2015’s Matador) below, and check out photos from the Baby’s show — including ones of opener Ayron Jones — in the gallery above.

Today, Gaz stopped by Stereogum’s offices to play a three songs: “Detroit,” “The Girl Who Fell to Earth” and a third Matador track, “Oscillate.” Watch that below as well. Tonight (5/6) Gaz and Ayron play an early show at NYC’s Mercury Lounge (6:30 PM doors) and tickets are still available.

After making his way across the country for West Coast dates, Gaz will wrap up his U.S. visit in Austin for SXSW. In other news, Gaz will release World’s Strongest Man track “The Oaks” as a Record Store Day 12″ with a remix of the song by UK electronica vets Leftfield on the b-side. It’s a UK RSD title, unfortunately, but some North American stores do get that stuff sometimes. Keep an eye out.
