Gene Simmons of KISS sued for sexual battery by restaurant employee

Gene Simmons of KISS is being sued for sexual battery, The Blast reports. According to court documents The Blast obtained, a woman claims Simmons groped her at the opening of one of his Rock & Brews restaurants on December 6, 2016. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, says she was working as a dishwasher at the restaurant, and is seeking unspecified damages.

More from The Blast:

The woman claims she did not know who Simmons was but she agreed to take a photo with him when he walked into the kitchen where she was working.

Doe claims when she moved close to Simmons for the photo, he “reached over and forcefully placed his hand on her vagina, completely covering it.”

She says that during the visit, she witnessed Simmons act “in a sexually charged manner with other women,” claiming she saw him touch their hair and “tell them to unbutton their shirts.”

Simmons has been sued for sexual battery before. Another woman, identified as a “long-time on-air personality for a local rock station,” filed a complaint in 2017. The lawsuit claimed Simmons grabbed the woman’s hand and “forcefully placed it on his knee and held it on his knee,” “forcibly flicked/struck” the woman’s throat, and “reached toward Plaintiff Doe’s buttocks and touched it” while posing for a photograph together. Simmons denied the allegations, but settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount.

In 2010, Simmons was sued for sexual assault by a Los Angeles makeup artist. He was also banned for life from Fox News, where he had appeared as a regular guest, after a behind-the-scenes outburst.

Simmons is set to embark on a farewell tour with KISS in 2019.
